What's your level of Jesus kind of love? This question challenges us to examine not just our feelings toward Christ, but how we actively demonstrate His love in our daily lives through Christ-like action.
Jesus Kind of Love Is a Verb: Christian Love in Action
Jesus kind of love is a verb. It's an action. It's not just emotional attachment or warm feelings—it's demonstrating biblical love through concrete choices and behaviors every day.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-6
This powerful description in First Corinthians 13 reveals what Jesus kind of love looks like in practice. It's the blueprint for how we should love others—and how we should love Jesus Himself through spiritual growth.
Jesus kind of love feeds people who turn on Him and call for His crucifixion.
Jesus kind of love heals people who demand His death.
This radical love challenges our natural instincts. It calls us to a higher standard of Christian discipleship that can only be achieved through divine help.
The Disconnect Between Words and Christ-like Love Actions
Jesus directly confronts this disconnect when He asks, "Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and not do what I've commanded?"
Many claim to love Jesus, but Jesus' love language is action. His commands for Christian love are clear:
Heal the sick
Raise the dead
Cast out demons
Feed the poor
Clothe them
Love them
And specifically—show love to people who don't show love to you.
Moving Beyond Feelings: Biblical Love in Practice
Jesus kind of love is an action, not a feeling. While it's good to feel love and gratitude toward Jesus for all He's done, true Jesus kind of love requires action through spiritual growth.
If you have not developed the type of love found in First Corinthians 13, it will be impossible for you to show Jesus' kind of love to others.
The Path Forward in Christian Discipleship
I encourage you to read First Corinthians 13 out loud and pray: "Heavenly Father, help me develop Jesus-based love."
Immediately, as you do this, you invite God's transformative power to work in your heart. That type of love that Jesus has for people—you will be the person who shows it to them.
Transform Your Capacity for Christ-like Love
When we align our hearts with God's definition of biblical love, we become vessels through which His extraordinary love can flow to others. This isn't about perfection but progress—growing daily in our capacity to love like Jesus.
Are you ready to move beyond feelings to action? Are you prepared to practice radical love toward those who don't love you back? This is the challenge and the invitation of Jesus kind of love.
